You wake up to hear something outside the door of your room. It was weeks since you remembered the reason why you were in this hell hole. You were protesting against your parents for making you into a slave. You were right and they were wrong. Now that you’re in the Insane Asylum for Boys and Girls you might as well make the most of it. You hear children talk about a beast that eats children and you’re scared that you’re going to be next.
Once again you hear something outside your door and you get out of bed to see what it is. You reach for the door knob with your nine year old hand and open the door. It’s Jamie and Charlotte and they look at you with a smile.
“Hey, I heard something down the hallway from our bedrooms,” replied Jamie.
“Yeah, it’s probably the flesh beast!” yelled Charlotte.
“Shh, you want to wake the dead?”
“Sorry,” she answered.
“Quiet, I hear something,” said Jamie as he held out his hand.
You become suspicious because you feel like you’re being toyed around by your two friends, but you follow them down the hallway. It’s dark and you’re unable to see what’s in front of you. Suddenly, the moon unveils from the clouds and you can see what’s in front of you. The moon is full and you’re able to hear the wind blow through the evergreens because the windows are open. It seems like all is well and you keep following your friends who are in front of you. Then you stop when they do, after hearing something dreadful.
“Where’s my flesh?” it whispers and you look ahead to see a pair of glowing yellow eyes stare at you.
You scream in horror and run back, leaving your two friends behind while they scream. There’s no time to turn around to see where it is and you don’t care. All you care about is getting yourself out of harm’s way, but you hear a thumping behind you. The ripping sound of a growl the scream of one of your two friends echoes throughout the hallway. You turn your head to see what it is and watch it tear the head off of Jamie with a single snap of its jaws. You can see its shiny teeth run up and down its jaw bone and your skin begins to crawl. The blood turns cold as your body starts to curdle and you feel your legs become weak while it charges after Charlotte.
She screams and shouts for you to help her, but your body is numb and you can’t move. You close your eyes and cry as you hear the snap of her bones.
You finally get the strength in your heart to run and you hope that it doesn’t grab your legs and eat them. Each stride you make, you hear the beast charge after you as it repeats, “where’s my flesh!”
